Dhaka Int’l 10K – A Tribute to Nahid Kawser: Running in Remembrance

On April 30, 2024, we lost a beloved member of the running community, Nahid Kawser. He tragically passed away after sustaining critical injuries from an AC explosion at Adrita Fabrics and Tailors in Savar’s Genda Bus Stand area on April 15, 2024.

Nahid was known for his unwavering passion for running, a passion that fueled his dedication to the sport and made him a respected and cherished figure within the local running community. He participated in numerous events, always pushing himself to new limits. As far as we know, his last race-the Beach Half 2024 in Kuakata-was a testament to his commitment and love for the sport.

Beyond his athletic ability, Nahid’s spirit was a source of inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of running alongside him. His warmth, camaraderie, and encouragement made him not just a competitor, but a true friend to many. His untimely passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him.

In honor of Nahid’s memory and his contributions to our community, we dedicate the Dhaka International 10K event to him. This tribute is a small but meaningful way for us to express our gratitude for all that he brought to the sport and to each of us. Nahid’s legacy of passion, perseverance, and friendship will live on in every stride we take.

We mourn his loss, but we also celebrate the incredible mark he left on all of us. He will not be forgotten.
